Cody, WY – A memorial for Smokejumper Tim Hart will be held at 11:00 AM
Saturday, June 12th at the Cody High School Football Field, 920 Beck Avenue in Cody, WY.
The memorial for a line of duty death is a complex event; the memorial for Tim Hart will include remarks by Forest Service Chief Vicki Christiansen, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, Cody Mayor Matt Hall and family. There will be flag presentations and several other traditions performed by the Forest Service Honor Guard and fire personnel.
A walk-through for members of the media will be offered at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 11th. This
walk-through will allow media members to gain insight into how the memorial will unfold the next day, confirm where media will be set up, and connect with media contacts for the day. Media are requested to RSVP to timhartmemorial@gmail.com by 7:00 PM Thursday, June 10, 2021 to learn more details.
Out of respect it is requested that media refrain from contacting the family and friends of Tim Hart for the foreseeable future to allow them to deal with this difficult time. They may allow interviews over the coming weeks.

Tim Hart Memorial, Saturday, June 12 at Cody Public Schools Football Field
• 9:30 am west gate will open to set up
• Still photographers and videographers will set up in the press box above the west stands
• Reporters can sit in the bleachers.
• Only pool photographers will be allowed on the field
• Photos of the memorial will be shared via cloud with details TBA
• Family and friends are not granting interviews at this time
